About this site

This is an independently maintained project — not a company, and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or any other government agency.

What this site does

Each calculator answers one specific, narrow compliance calculation that federal contractors, DOT-regulated motor carriers, or HUD grantees need to get right, and that is easy to compute incorrectly by using the wrong denominator, averaging method, or an outdated threshold. Every calculator is free, requires no account or sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser — no inputs are transmitted anywhere or stored.

Methodology

Every calculator is built directly from the cited federal regulation, agency fact sheet, or Federal Register notice — never from a general impression of "how this usually works." Every source is linked on the relevant calculator's page. Where a primary source (such as eCFR or FMCSA.gov) could not be directly accessed during a calculator's construction, that limitation is disclosed explicitly on the page rather than presented as a fully verified citation — see, for example, the DOT and HUD Section 3 calculators' source notes.

Accuracy and updates

Regulatory rates and thresholds change periodically — fringe-benefit rates, testing percentages, and dollar thresholds are all subject to revision by the issuing agency. Each calculator page shows a "last verified" date. If it has been a while since that date, or if you know of a rate or threshold change not yet reflected here, treat the calculator's output as a starting point, not a final answer, and verify directly against the current source cited on that page.

What this site is not

These are calculation aids, not legal or compliance advice, and not a substitute for a qualified compliance officer, accountant, or attorney. No calculator here performs a legal determination, and none should be the sole basis for a real certified payroll submission, compliance certification, or regulatory filing.

Feedback

This site does not currently offer a direct contact channel. If a calculator appears to produce an incorrect result, the most reliable path is to verify independently against the cited source on that calculator's page and consult a qualified professional for your specific situation.
